This guide separates the scoring rules from the decisions you can actually make: reading the standings, reviewing an hour and checking a prize claim.

Prize money is a possible extra, not a sensible starting assumption for your budget. Use the competition as one observation about your stream, alongside repeat visits, conversation quality and a schedule you can sustain.

How Chaturbate contest points are calculated

The quick lookup below turns a minute's qualifying position into a score. You can use it to check the arithmetic of an example; it does not reveal the platform's private counting or tie-breaking logic.

The useful distinction is between your position now and the points collected throughout the period. A leaderboard is like a running total on a receipt: the latest line matters, but it is not the entire receipt. Reading only one moment can lead you to a very different conclusion from reviewing the whole hour.

If you take notes, record both the time and what the screen actually labels. Do not quietly substitute the room's headline viewer count for a contest position, or treat a token total as a contest score.

A worked example: a short peak versus a steady position

Imagine two fictional streams. Stream A spends 10 minutes in first place and the rest of the period outside the scoring positions. Stream B spends 40 minutes in fifth place and the rest outside them.

In this example, B collects 140 more points. That is an arithmetic illustration, not a claim about typical rooms or an estimate of your chances. Neither total tells us who wins without the other participants' scores.

For your own review, this suggests a useful question: did the stream give people a reason to stay, or did it produce one spike followed by an empty stretch? A recurring conversation, a readable schedule and a smooth technical setup are things you can improve without chasing every movement in a leaderboard.

How to read the standings without overreacting

Before comparing two scores, check that you are looking at the same contest and the same period. Keep seasonal promotions separate from the hourly format. A screenshot without a time or a contest label is a weak reference.

1. Identify the period. Read the displayed timer or contest information instead of assuming the reset follows your computer's clock.
2. Read the metric. Distinguish the current position, cumulative score and any other audience statistics shown nearby.
3. Compare a sequence. A few time-stamped observations are more useful than repeatedly refreshing one moment.
4. Write down what changed. Note a technical interruption, a planned segment or a change of topic. Treat a possible connection as a hypothesis for another stream.

Do not buy viewers, create accounts to inflate counts or ask people to manipulate the competition. Appendix A allows disqualification for interference and rule violations. Build an audience that would have a reason to return even if the leaderboard disappeared.

Prize claims, the payment threshold and eligibility

Appendix A generally requires an age-verified account and eligibility in your jurisdiction. For cash claims, it specifies unclaimed funds exceeding $50, a claim form and identity details; processed claims are paid by the seventh day of the following month. The overview page uses “minimum $50.” At exactly $50, check the claim screen or ask support rather than assuming payment is available.

Keep a private record of the contest period, result and claim confirmation. Send identity or payment documents only through the official process requested by Chaturbate. If something does not match, a short support request with those references is easier to investigate than a description from memory.

A listed prize is not the same as money already received. Plan purchases and regular costs using confirmed income, and verify the payment options shown for your account before relying on a particular withdrawal method.

A practical review routine for new broadcasters

Start with one manageable improvement for your next stream. A stable picture, clear sound and a simple explanation of what is happening are more useful starting points than a complicated competition strategy.

• Before: check your OBS setup, confirm your schedule and prepare one topic you can return to if the conversation slows.
• During: keep your menu and chat messages readable. A bot should reduce interruptions rather than fill the room with reminders.
• After: write down one moment that worked and one thing to change. Review contest observations alongside your energy and the overall quality of the broadcast.
